UMD Researchers Fight to Save GEDI

The Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI) mission was launched in late 2018. Despite the mission's success and its implications for global climate change mitigation, GEDI is scheduled to be deorbited in early 2023. Extending GEDI's life would allow researchers to continue amassing vital forest data on a global scale.
