Undergraduate Adrian Seemangal Wins $10,000 Scholarship
The University of Maryland Department of Geographical sciences is delighted to announce that Adrian Seemangal, a junior undergraduate Geographical Sciences major, was the RGi® Scholarship for Geospatial and Engineering from the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF)! The scholarship provides $10,000 for students that demonstrate an interest in both geospatial sciences and engineering.
In addition to majoring in Geographical Sciences, Adrian is also pursuing a minor in Russian studies at the University of Maryland. He became interested in the field of geography in college after receiving hands-on experience analyzing satellite imagery. He is interested in a breadth of geographical science interests including machine learning, spatial data science, and drone remote sensing.
