UMCP Ranked #2 University for Remote Sensing

In the ShanghaiRankings 2019 Academic Ranking of World Universities, the University of Maryland College Park was ranked the #2 academic institution for Remote Sensing. To be included in a subject ranking, a university needs to have a minimum number of research publications during the ranking period. Bibliometric data are then collected and compared for eligible institutions from Web of Science and InCites. The Department of Geographical Sciences is the major unit at UMCP involved in Remote Sensing research and given the number of faculty, is a standout among these top institutions worldwide.
