Pay it Forward on #GivingDayUMD!
The 2023 Giving Day is upon us. Through March 8, you will receive numerous requests for support from the university, the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSOS), and departments like ours. You might be thinking, "Why should I?" And that is a very fair question. I like to think about it as "paying it forward."
Classroom learning is a central part of college. But many of your favorite experiences stem from "other" activities that made college not only manageable, but a great part of your life.
Those fulfilling education and research activities were made possible thanks to people like you who answered a call to donate.
So now, I am asking you to "pay it forward" to give those exciting new opportunities to students who are going through their college experience now.
Join us in giving something to the Department of Geographical Sciences Fund–in whatever amount you can. The action of giving is meaningful on its own. In that act, we come as a community to support our students and campus.
Gifts into the Department of Geographical Sciences Fund will be personally matched by an anonymous donor, up to $1,000 total.
Here are some ways you can help GEOG and BSOS be successful this Giving Day.

Help the College win challenges:
BSOS will compete with other units on campus for a share of prize money during hourly Giving Day challenges. If possible, consider timing your gift to help the College earn extra funds!
