Bio

Senior Faculty Specialist at the University of Maryland department of Geographical Sciences. Has a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Vermont and a M.A. in Geographical Science from the University of Maryland. Primary work includes coordinator and lead author for the GEOGLAM Crop Monitor for AMIS, which monitors the major producer and exporter countries to develop timely and consensus driven crop assessments in support of market transparency. The Crop Monitor for AMIS is published within the G-20 Agricultural Market Information System (AMIS) Market Monitor. Coordinating over 35 international collaborators to ensure timely data submissions, smooth running of the monthly telecons, and crafting of the Crop monitor for AMIS monthly report.

Building on the success of the Crop Monitor for AMIS, helped to coordinate the prototyping and development of the Crop Monitor for Early Warning with the main global food security organizations. Since its inception in 2016, maintains a co-coordinator and graphic designer role for the Crop Monitor for Early Warning published in partnership with USAID FEWS NET, FAO GIEWS, EC JRC, Asia RiCE, WFP, ICPAC, and South Africa ARC. Additionally, working on a number of other smaller projects such as the Crop Yield and Condition Forecasting from Field to Global Scales under the NASA Harvest program run through the University of Maryland.
