Qualitative Methods in Action: Anthropology 606
This past fall, students in the Anth606 Qualitative Methods course conducted an ethnographic research study to understand the needs and desires of the UMD community concerning the current baseball stadium and its improvement. The research and data analysis were used to find and present the underlying themes found to the School of Architecture, which will be in charge of the redesign. It was found that the new space should be inclusive, creating an environment where the crowd and fans are increasingly integrated into the experience of the live sport. Layout and Structural changes should also be made to appease the needs of the players and staff as well, and to match the increase level of play from the team.
