Megan Bailey, Ph.D, Publishes Book on L'Hermitage Plantation
A big congratulations to Megan Bailey (PhD 2018). Her book: Memory and Power at L'Hermitage Plantation: Heritage of a Nervous Landscape, has been published by the University Press of Florida. Megan uses archaeological data and historical records to document the treatment of enslaved people at L'Hermitage Plantation (1794-1827), and she discusses the National Park Service's interpretation of the place within the context of a Civil War battlefield.
