Dr. Barbara Paca Serving on Environmental Justice and Sustainable Communities Commission

Dr. Barbara Paca, Research Professor, has just been appointed by Governor Larry Hogan as a Commissioner to serve on the Environmental Justice and Sustainable Communities Commission.

Her first projects in the capacity of Commissioner include working with a talented Advisory Committee toward the creation of the Water's Edge Museum. The Museum honors the Founding Black Families of Maryland's Eastern Shore and studies the vulnerabilities of life at the Water's edge.

Through the Museum, Dr. Paca is involved in a collaboration to place a Middle Passage Marker in the Port of Oxford, the only Middle Passage Stop on the Eastern Shore of Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia.
