Bio

Cathleen Crain is a four-field trained, professional Anthropologist who is broadly interested in sociocultural anthropology, medical anthropology, community health and development, and, health care. She is a Managing Partner at LTG Associates, Inc., the oldest anthropologically-based consulting firm in North America, where she works as a senior social scientist. Her work includes research, evaluation, program development and policy analysis particularly related to the appropriateness, accessibility, and quality of health and human services both domestically and internationally. She has worked with this Department for over 15 years as an adjunct. She is chair of the National Association for the Practice of Anthropology’s (NAPA) Organizational Relations Committee, responsible for the annual NAPA/AAA Careers Exposition. She recently served as the co-Chair of the AAA Committee on Practicing, Applied, and Public Interest Anthropology (CoPAPIA), and serves on the Washington Association for Professional Anthropology’s (WAPA) Program Committee. In additional to memberships in the AAA, NAPA, and WAPA, she is a Fellow of the Society for the Practice of Anthropology (SfAA).
